Private Residences and Experiences

Stay in peace
Xola is a collection of intimate safari properties that blend slow peaceful journeys with a soul for preservation.
Inspired by timeless traditions, meaningful connections, and a deep respect for nature, each destination offers a peaceful sense of place where authentic experiences, conservation, and community come together to celebrate the enduring spirit of Africa.
From the wilderness
Nestled deep in the Lemek Conservancy, a community wildlife area, the new Xola Mara brings the Masai Mara closer, and takes you deeper into it
Wake to golden savannah light, spend unhurried days exploring one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems, and return to the comfort of your private residence complete with a plunge pool, expansive outdoor living spaces and dedicated butler service, home away from home.
Every journey here contributes to a larger purpose: protecting landscapes, supporting local communities and preserving the cultural heritage of the Maasai people for generations to come. More than a safari lodge, Xola Mara is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature and rediscover what it means to truly stay in peace.
Opening June 2027
The first chapter of the Xola Collection.

Community
Xola means "Stay in peace" in Zulu and Xhosa.
Our people are an integral of the Xola experience, sharing their passion for Africa's natural spaces and rich cultures through stories and experiences designed to bring you closer to both. In doing so, we hope to show you the incredible diversity and inspiration that can be found here, and remind you that you always have a home to come back to in Africa.
When the world's wildest places are yours to explore, meaningful bonds and memorable moments come naturally.
The Residences
Each country tells its own story. Kenya is the archetype, where classic safari traditions endure. Tanzania is the spectacle, vast and dramatic in every direction. Uganda is the intimate encounter, where ancient forests reveal extraordinary moments with mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. Rwanda is the quiet renaissance, where conservation, culture, and luxury come together in remarkable harmony. Choose by mood, by season, or by the wildlife you most hope to share a silence with.

The Experiences
Xola has been designed as a lifestyle collection that allows you to be, stay, explore and give you room to command your day as you wish.

Camps that welcome children, and camps that very deliberately do not.

Where your trip funds rhino tracking, gorilla habitat, anti-poaching, and the people who do it.

Maasai, Himba, San, Samburu, Hadza: the human half of an African journey.

Aerial perspectives and dedicated photographic vehicles, for those who came to see properly.

Gin on a kopje at sundown. A breakfast table on a plain. The unhurried hours that hold the safari together.

Some of the darkest skies left on earth. Star beds, salt-pan sleep-outs, dune-top dinners under the Milky Way.

1,000+ species in Uganda alone. The most rewarding wildlife genre on the continent for the patient.

The thinking-traveller's safari. Born in Zambia, perfected in Mana Pools.

Lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo: the country-by-country guide.

Mahale, Nyungwe, Kibale: where you trek for our other close cousins.

One hour with the last mountain gorillas, in Rwanda, Uganda, or both.

Two million ungulates, a thousand-mile circuit. Where to be, and when.
Plan the journey
Tell us where you want to wake up, what season suits, and whether you're chasing wildlife, quiet, or both. We'll write the trip back to you, with rooms held and flights pencilled.

Travel with a purpose
Done well, it is one of the few kinds of travel on earth where a paying guest directly funds the wildlife and the people they came to see. Gorilla permits pay the rangers. Conservancy leases pay the Maasai families who own the land.
Xola points every itinerary toward the operators and conservancies where that chain genuinely holds.
